Our West Coast Hockey Conference (WCHC) season is now over. For the first time in UCSB Ice Hockey history we will be moving up from Tier 2 to Tier 1 meaning we will be playing bigger schools such as UCLA, ASU, GCU and many more schools. We, the UCSB Ice Hockey team, are hoping to represent UCSB and show all the other California teams that we have not only the best campus but also the best hockey team. But we need your help to do it! We’re hoping to raise $6,000 to help pay for all season expenses.
This includes ice time costs for the practices and games that’ll get us ready for all of our big games as well as the travel costs associated with all of our road games of the season and playoffs themselves (such as transportation, food, accommodation, league fees, etc). We’re one of the only club sports at UCSB that has to pay for our playing surface. While the school gives us some allocation, we’re responsible for most of our expenses throughout the season.
We are so grateful for all the support we’ve received this season. We literally could not have fit more people into the building to watch our first home game of the season, and we’ve had the opportunity to play in front of hundreds of awesome fans all season. We cannot express how happy it makes us that our games are somewhere that students can come and forget about everything except hanging out with their friends, yelling at our opponents, and having a great time. So, whether you used to be on the team, know someone on the team, or just enjoy coming out to watch our games, please consider donating whatever you can to help us keep doing what we’re doing, all the way to and through playoffs!
