Please help us raise $5,000 to go to Playoffs and improve gear!

Update - Phase 1 funding complete!  Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our first goal of $3,000!  We have now challenged the team to try to reach $5,000 to help improve the team's gear!

With an expansive history and time-honored traditions dating back to roughly 2002, UCSB Women’s Rugby has established itself as a club that embodies the true spirit of UC Santa Barbara. As a Division 1 team under USA Rugby, we play with seven other teams spread between Southern California, Utah, and Arizona in the Pacific Desert Rugby Conference. That means we need to budget for transportation, a way to pay our coach Kelly Griffin for everything she does (did you know she’s an Olympian?), and any other costs we incur throughout the season.

As a club sports team, UCSB Women's Rugby is composed of full-time students. We’re faced with balancing our personal budgets and having to cover expenses ourselves while traveling to games. Part of every donation we receive will go to helping subsidize our players' cost of travel, which means that your support will help us get to and from games without the extra stress of Southern California gas prices. Our other priority right now is gear! Our equipment shed has taken a hit since the beginning of the pandemic, and the gear we use to practice is in bad shape. With your help, we can get ourselves the tools we need to build strong, safe foundations for our players.
