UCSB COVID-19 Testing Fund

FAQ

Are my contributions to UC Santa Barbara's GauchoBoost projects tax deductible?

Yes. Any outright gifts to the University - including gifts made through this site - are 100% tax deductible. Immediately following your gift, you will receive an email which functions as a tax receipt.

I can’t find the fund I want to donate to, what do I do?

GauchoBoost is a place which enables all Gauchos and friends to support exciting programs and projects. If you would like to give to an area not currently represented on this site, please visit us at our giving site at giving.ucsb.edu/funds.

We encourage you to come back and visit GauchoBoost frequently as new programs are regularly added.

Can my company match my gift?

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees; some companies also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. To learn more about matching gifts CLICK HERE.

If you need assistance, please contact our Matching Gift Coordinator at matching.gifts@ia.ucsb.edu.

Can I mail in a check or give over the phone?

We accept gifts over the phone, online, and by mail.

Make your check out to "The UC Santa Barbara  Foundation" and mail to:

The UC Santa Barbara Foundation
University of California, Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara, CA 93101-1130

Please indicate the area you would like to support in the memo section of the check.  If you have any questions you may also call us at 805-893-GIVE (4483).

What happens if a project doesn't reach its goal?

This is one of the ways GauchoBoost is a little different from other crowdfunding platforms.  All gifts are processed directly by UC Santa Barbara to the gift fund which benefits the respective program or project you choose to support, even if the goal isn't completely met.  So your gift makes a difference, no matter what!
